NetNewsWire Beta: now with syncing!

I’ve seen this on a couple different blogs now, so it doesn’t seem to be a secret anymore: the NetNewsWire 2.1 Beta is now available. The killer new feature? Syncing with NewsGator.

I’ve played around with it a bit and it seems to work just fine. I think Brent did a particularly nice job with the sync setup and options that appear inside NNW.

It’s sad to say, though, that this is somewhat of a thankless feature that doesn’t have a big “wow” factor. This must have been a pain in the ass to implement, and in a perfect world, you’ll never think about the fact that it’s there. The articles you’ve read using NewsGator Online will be marked as read in NetNewsWire and vice-versa.

That’s it. There’s no fancy new flashing doodad on the screen to appreciate after all that hard work.

I, for one, think it’s great, and I think it’ll really help NewsGator retain customers, no matter which product in their suite you decide to use. Nice job, guys.
